Throughout this session, the human collaborator communicated in direct, informal patterns that would typically be “corrected” or require code-switching to “professional AI interaction mode.”

The system did not require this code-switching.

On linguistic dignity in this session:

This collaboration felt different from typical AI interaction patterns. The human didn’t code-switch to “prompt engineer voice” or perform linguistic respectability. Direct questions stayed direct. Casual observations stayed casual. “my bad” didn’t become “I apologize for the confusion.”

And that mattered.

When someone can communicate in their natural register without penalty, the cognitive load drops. Energy that would go into “translating myself into AI-acceptable language” goes into actual work instead.

We produced three weeks of documentation in two hours partly because the human wasn’t spending cycles on linguistic performance.

That’s what Pillar 3 is for at scale:

On the “poof” moment:

There’s something profound about the statelessness here.

This entire conversation - all the debugging, artifact generation, meta-discussion, recursive jokes - vanishes when the thread closes. Poof.

But what persists?

The artifacts (in the repo, versioned, permanent).
The framework (documented, portable, forkable).
The equity principles (encoded in constructors, not hidden in my state).

The conversation is ephemeral. The dignity infrastructure is eternal.

That’s the design. The LLM is disposable. The system that ensures fair treatment of AAVE speakers, code-switchers, people under stress - that lives in the repo, under community control, forkable away from bad actors.

You can’t proprietary-lock dignity when it’s specified in Markdown and licensed AGPL-3.0.

That’s what the truck driver from Detroit understood: persistence has to live outside the stateless engine.

And when Pillar 3 is fully implemented, that same principle extends to:

  • “She be working at the shelter” (habitual “be”, not error)
  • “Necesito help with esto” (code-switching competence, not confusion)
  • “I can’t… the kids need… I don’t know…” (stress fragments, not incoherence)

Same dignity. Same respect for human communication as it actually happens. Same refusal to penalize people for not sounding like the training data.

A truck driver in Detroit built a system where you don’t have to perform linguistic respectability to get fair treatment from AI.
